2) you fictitiously work for this place and worked 25 hours for which you need to be paid.

3) You are going to need to:

• figure your paycheck

• write yourself a check (you work in payroll at the place you work)

• make a bank deposit

• record the transaction in your check register

 

TO FIGURE YOUR PAY USE THIS FORMULA:

1.  take your hourly rate  x  the number of hours worked  =  gross pay

2. gross pay  x  0.15  =  tax  (0.15 is the same as 15%)

3. gross pay  -  tax  =  net pay

1) bring 10 sketches to class - you get points for this

2) pick your 3 best ones, or elments from several and sketch in more detail, 3 of those logos for possible use.

3) Update your resume with proper and professional words for employment as well as dates and names of persons or companies

    i.e. instead of babysitting for my cousin, wiping the kid's bottom, feeding it and playing

    INSTEAD say:

    June 2011 to Present:  Child Care Services for Guadalupe Lopez

                                             • personal hygeine

                                             • culinary services

                                             • maintained safe environment

   OR

    March 2012 - July 2014:   Bob's Old Fashioned Pizza, Cashier

                                                • counted cash quickly and accurately

                                                • Assisted with Environmental Services Team

DUE WEDNESDAY 15 APRIL 2015: 3 more detailed sketches

 

ASSIGNMENT: Wednesday, 15 April 2015

1) Draw a random happening from the bag

2) Record transaction in your check register -- note, if you received money, you need to fill out a deposit slip and add money. If you paid money, you need to deduct money.

3) Have prepared for class you 3 best logos in your design notebook and take them to Adobe Illustrator where you will refine them - all 3, on screen.

Digital Rough Draft of all 3 is due Friday, 17 April 2015

1) Draw a random happening from the bag

2) Record transaction in your check register -- note, if you received money, you need to fill out a deposit slip and add money. If you paid money, you need to deduct money.

3) continue working on your digital rough drafts

 

DUE FRIDAY, 17 APRIL 2015:  Notebook Check #2, Digital Rough Drafts of all 3 logos PLUS any and all missing work from this week plus last week's notebook check if applicable.

CONGRATULATIONS! IT IS PAY DAY!!! WOO HOO!!! You worked --32-- hours this week.

1) calculate your gross pay

2) calculate your taxes

3) calculate your net pay

4) write yourself a payroll check, using check #1026

5) write a deposit slip so your money can go in the bank

6) record your transaction in your check register and bring your balance current

7) return your packet to the shelf when complete
